Black Friday.

Black Friday

Today it will be rather short note regarding Black Friday, the day when we can indulge ourselves in frantic hunt for bargains.
Despite people claiming to have less and less money, they still have enough to go crazy and buy more and more stuff.
We are bombarded by Black Friday commercials in TV, on the radio and You Tube etc etc.

I find it funny and a bit odd.
From one side we are told that cost of living is so high and to afford heating and food, we should rather economise and stop spending.
From the other side it looks like we are very much encouraged to spend and spend as much as possible.
I’ve noticed long ago that quality of products manufactured nowadays is low and all is made to last just a short period of time.
Jeans bought six months ago are falling apart, hoover bought year ago stops working and there is no point to repair it as cost of repair is almost as high like price of new hoover.
We are buying cheap junk which in no time creates mountains of landfill.
I am not tempted by Black Friday deals.
It is much more fun to buy in London charity shops and in many of them one can find amazing cool objects which were made long time ago and which still work and look attractive.
They cost a little and one can feel virtuous “recycling” objects and clothes.
