Dealing with garbage in London.

London, street, garbage, collection

My landlord is abroad now and it is my duty to move out garbage bins so garbage can be collected every week.
I do not mind that.
Actually I find removal of garbage as one of the most important tasks of mine during the week.
I do not like stench of rotting food leftovers in a bin so I do like to remove it as soon as possible.
Recycling is more of a worry for me.
People should throw away plastic bottle, cans, jars to separate recycling bin.
They often put dirty jars, bottles and food leftovers in recycling bins.
It is so annoying to me.
How can this stuff to be recycled in such condition?
When I lived in Japan, sorting of the rubbish was a very important thing.
There were instructions how to prepare garbage for collection and each day of the week was specially assigned for different type of rubbish.

Disposable plastic food containers, cans and bottles were washes clean before they were place for removal, waste paper was always neatly packed and corded.
I really like this idea which shows respect for environment, for people who collect the garbage and for those who will recycle all that.
Why can’t Londoners be more thoughtful and caring really?
There is so much talk about saving planet, plastic floating in oceans and killing marine life.
It is bad… so can’t we just start from recycling properly first?
And can my neighbours stop dumping dirty containers in my clean and organized recycling bin?
