How to pass Life in the UK Test? -part 1

City, London, Bank, Tube, station

This is the question, isn’t it?
After tirelessly reading the test handbook several times, it is best to…read it few times more, just in case.
The authors of handbook tells again and again that person willing to pass test MUST fully understand the content of chapter 2 to 6.
So when I finally decided I do understand the content, I started testing myself using mock tests.

24 questions, many of them not direct, some with at least couple of correct answers.
Good sign is if I reply well for 18 questions which will make me pass the test.
If I feel I forgot some piece from the handbook or I am confused, I read specific page or pages again.
I am using not only test suggested by handbook but also tests from previous years which could be found online.
The wider variety of questions the better I think.

When I feel I am ready I will book my test through the Life in the UK Test online booking website.
I will need my valid ID with photo and my debit card as it is required to pay for the test during booking.
There will be created an account to book the test and I will need to provide date and place of birth, nationality and address.
As my photo ID I will use my passport, which can’t be expired.
But it is allowed to use also: a Biometric Residence Permit, a European Union ID, an Approved Travel Document, an Immigration Status Document or a UK Certificate of Identity.
All documents must be in date.

While registered, I must make sure that details I registered while booking must match exactly my ID and other documents I will have with me during test.
If details of registration won’t match my ID, I won’t be allowed to take the test and money I paid, won’t be refunded.

When registration is completed, I will be presented with locations of five test centres closest to the place I live.
I will be obliged to take my test at one of these five test centres and not else where.
If I don’t follow this rule, again I won’t be allowed to pass the test and I will loose the fee.

It may take few weeks of waiting for test appointment.
Test can be cancelled without charge up to three days before scheduled test (one must use online account to do so).
For people who have questions about booking process, there is the UK Test Helpline so if I need I can call 0800 015 245
